Designed to Reduce Sliding During Head Elevation
Many standard hospital beds push the user downward as the backrest rises. That often means more repositioning, more pulling up in bed, and more disruption through the day. The Span Encore MC9RW is designed to reduce that problem.
Its GlideAlign® retractable deck moves back as the head section rises, helping keep the user better aligned in bed. This creates a more stable setup for rest, meals, reading, or upright positioning without as much repeated adjustment.

SmartStop® Low Height Safety
The Encore MC9RW lowers to 7-7/8" from the floor and rises to 31", giving you both a lower transfer height and a higher working height for care tasks. This makes the bed more practical for both the user and the caregiver.
SmartStop® pauses the bed at 12.5" during lowering so clearance underneath can be checked before continuing to the full low position. That added pause is especially useful when lifts, accessories, or everyday items may be near the base.
Full Electric Positioning for Everyday Care
The Encore MC9RW is equipped with four actuators to control the main bed movements used in daily care. Bed height adjusts from 7-7/8" to 31", back elevation moves from 0° to 70°, and knee elevation moves from 0° to 30".
It also includes Auto Contour, Trendelenburg up to 16°, Reverse Trendelenburg up to 14°, and Comfort Chair positioning for a more upright seated position in bed.
