Baguette Lab-Grown Diamond Greek Cross Pendant

A Greek cross — equal arms, the form carried through Orthodox and Byzantine tradition — set with four baguette Lab-Grown Diamonds and a round Lab-Grown Diamond at the heart, framed in fine milgrain beadwork. It is 1.5 carats of total diamond weight in solid 14K gold, made by hand to order in my Queens workshop, built for the person who will wear it rather than pulled off a shelf.

The diamonds

Four baguette-cut Lab-Grown Diamonds run the length of each arm and meet a round brilliant Lab-Grown Diamond at the center — 1.5 carats of total weight in all. The baguettes give clean, architectural lines while the round center catches the light, so the cross reads bright and deliberate rather than busy.

The design

This is a Greek cross, with four arms of equal length, measuring about 23.8 by 18.8 millimeters — a presence on the chest without being heavy. Each arm is edged in hand-detailed milgrain beadwork, the tiny raised beads that give the piece its heirloom, Byzantine character and a finish you feel as much as see.

The metal and chain

Hand-finished in solid 14K gold — real gold all the way through, never plated — in the tone you choose, from warm yellow to cool white to soft rose. It comes on an adjustable cable chain you can wear at either 16 or 18 inches, so it sits right whether you layer it high or let it fall.
