The EverSave GB/GBC Flash Cart is a development-focused PCB designed for creating, testing and running software on original Game Boy and Game Boy Color hardware. It uses a reliable FRAM memory setup for persistent save retention without the need for a battery, providing long-term stability for active development work.

This version is based on the MBC5 mapper, making it suitable for software that does not rely on real-time clock (RTC) functionality. It is ideal for homebrew developers, aftermarket modders and users who wish to run their own software or legitimate personal backups on original Nintendo GB/GBC consoles.

This product is a bare PCB module and is not a finished consumer cartridge. It is not intended for loading copyrighted game content you do not own. A compatible flash programmer is required to write data to the cartridge, and a shell (not included) is needed to physically insert it into a Game Boy or Game Boy Color console. The PCB is compatible with GB or GBC type cartridge housing shells (not included)

Q: Does this include any games or ROMs?
No. This is a development tool and includes no game software or data of any kind.

Q: Can I use this for homebrew testing?
Yes. It is ideal for running homebrew projects, prototypes and personal backup files on real hardware. Note it will not run Game Boy Advance software, only Game Boy or Game Boy Color

Q: Do I need a programmer?
Yes. A compatible flash writer is required. FunnyPlaying carts typically work with Burnmaster, GBxCart and Joey Jr devices.

Q: Does this have a real time clock RTC?
No. The MBC5 version does not support RTC and does not have any coin battery, if you require a real time clock please look at the MBC3 version. Most games are developed for MBC5, only a select number of games are developed with the need for a clock.

Q: Is a cartridge shell included?
No. This is a PCB only. A GB or GBC shell is needed for physical installation into a console.
