Turquoise International has been serving the dance community since 1972 procuring the highest quality dance wear worldwide.   Our modern Assuit shawls are beautiful, hand-woven metal designs. This crafts is hundreds of years old.   It can take an artesian a month or more to produce one Assuit shawl. The fabric is a mesh hand made and hand dyed.  Tiny metal tabs are married into the fabric, making a shimmering design.  They are made in the town of Assiut in Upper Egypt and are perfect for folkloric and tribal costumes.  Its measurements are 80 W by 32 H.

Designs vary.  Due to the nature of the Egyptian hand-dying, some of the more saturated colors may have an occasional drop or swirl mark.  No two pieces are ever alike, so each shawl is entirely unique.
